Farmington Business Council Launched
April 1, 2009
Our President, John Malvaso, has helped launch the Farmington Business Council to facilitate and promote business to business relations here in Farmington as well as work to improve the entire community.
"It is comprised of local member industry executives who meet monthly to identify common business problems and formulate solutions using their shared experience."
From The Farmington Chamber of Commerce Newsletter:
As a segment of its “Getting to Know Your Business Neighbor” Program, the Farmington Chamber recently initiated The Farmington Business Council (FBC), which will serve in an adjunct capacity to the chamber, says Cal Cobb, Chamber President. Chamber business member John Malvaso, President of FSI Systems Inc., 5847 County Rd. 41, Farmington, phone: (585) 924-7510, was appointed Chairman of the FBC. Other of the original members of FBC include chamber business members: Ginger Bedard, Vice President, Buffalo Hotel Supply Co., Inc., Farmington, phone: (585) 398-3270; Jan Veomett, President, Ingleside Machine Co., Inc., 1120 Hook Rd., Farmington, phone: (585) 924-3046, and Joseph Bridgeford, President, Ultrafab, Inc., 1150 Hook Rd., Farmington, phone: (585) 924-2186. According to Malvaso, The FBC’s mission is to assist Farmington and the Chamber of Commerce in maintaining and growing current businesses within the township while continuing to build the commercial base by attracting new business and industry.
The Business Council has held two meetings to lay out its charter and plans. The second meeting also featured guest speaker Michael P. Woloson, Business Services Coordinator of the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, Inc.
located in Geneva, NY. Woloson discussed resource training in the workforce in the light of today’s distressed economy.
The FBC holds regular meetings the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at a location selected on a rotating basis. The first two were held at FSI Systems. Speakers on specific business issues will keynote each monthly business meeting, followed by a roundtable discussion by the FBC members.
To learn more about the FBC, businesses are asked to contact John Malvaso at (585) 924-7510 or Cal Cobb at (585) 398-2861
