We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished here at FSI over the last 25+ years and hope to show you about us quickly through our website.

Starting in 1984 as a development house for the newly emerging “microcontroller”, FSI has expanded into a major regional full service design and manufacturing center. Our manufacturing facility uses state-of-the-art assembly equipment to build your electronic product to the latest in ROHS and IPC standards.

Our design capabilities include embedded devices from major semiconductor manufacturers like TI, Freescale, Atmel, and Microchip. In addition, we’re always on the lookout for new and exciting products, such as ARM core devices from Luminary Micro, low cost high volume controllers from offshore sources and more.

FSI is proud to be fully authorized as partner developers from these companies.

In early 2000 we were asked by key customers to investigate taking on the manufacturing responsibility for their designs. This included managing outside domestic and offshore contract manufacturers. What we found was that most suppliers were not responsive enough to quickly respond to our customers needs, especially in areas like prototype and low volume pilot production. We could quickly turn a new design, but found ourselves ‘waiting in line’ with contract manufacturers for our projects. It was apparent that there was need to be filled here, and we attacked that area in earnest!

FSI has invested heavily in equipment to provide complete PCB assembly for every design that we do.

From ROHS certification to extreme small feature size components, we are constantly upgrading our capabilities and enhancing our processes.

Do you have your own favorite contract manufacturer (CM)? In-house capabilities? No problem. There’s no requirement that you build your production here. After the prototype build, we’ll hand you all the design files – layout, Gerbers, masks – we’ll even help your CM set up your build. We’ve supported our customers around the globe at some of the world’s largest contract manufacturers.
